With Affinity Driving School is very easy to make your driving
instruction appointments. All you have to do is call our office—Palm
Beach County Tel: (561) 985-1727, Broward County Tel: (954) 946-7174—and
one of our instructors will pick you up from
your home, school or office whenever is convenient for you. All
driving lessons are private, it's just you and the driving instructor.
This way you won't feel intimidated by anyone watching and listening
from the back seat, and you can feel free to ask as many questions
as you'd like.
First driving lessons begin in residential or low traffic areas,
where the driving instructor will explain the basic car maneuvers:
how to make accurate turns, how to make a smooth transition from the
gas pedal to the brake and vice-versa, coming to a full stop at a
stop sign, keeping a safe following distance, making a left turn on
a two-way road, recognizing and understanding street signs,
navigating around pedestrians, animals, bikers, and runners.
As the new driver becomes more relaxed and confident behind the wheel,
our driving instructor will take her (him) on the main roads and practice
lane changing, the proper way to turn in the intersections, approaching,
slowing down, and stopping at traffic lights, making a left turn on a green
yield, and how to handle unexpected traffic situations.
New drivers will learn to anticipate and watch for potential problems
from other drivers. For instance, when approaching a stop sign, they
should watch for other cars coming from different directions that may
not stop. We teach our students to watch for cars that suddenly switch
lanes without signaling or pull out in front. New drivers often have
trouble anticipating other cars or accurately sensing how much speed
and space certain situations require. These are safety habits that
drivers develop with experience and time.
Our private driving lessons include the fundamentals of defensive
driving: turning, backing, changing lanes, keeping safe following
distances, highway driving, parking, u-turns, 3 point turns, etc.
Adult Driving School in Boca Raton and Surrounding Cities
If you’re over 18 years old and have never driven before,
you’re not alone! Affinity Driving School has helped thousands
of adults become safe, confident drivers.
We all have to remember that we cannot control the actions of the
other drivers on the road. To remain safe, we must make the best
use of our own driving skills, knowledge and experience.
Affinity Driving School is a State Certified School with State
Certified, experienced driving instructors who are well versed
with first time, nervous drivers.
Affinity Driving School instructors turn mistakes into lessons.
Our driving instructors know which are the most common mistakes new drivers
make. When a mistake happens, the driving instructor will explain very calmly
what went wrong and how to avoid repeats.
Affinity Driving School is commited to help new drivers develop the knowledge,
skills, and attitudes necessary to become safe, low-risk responsible drivers.
We train our students to correctly identify and predict traffic situations,
make sound decisions and execute safe driving maneuvers.
One of the most important rules of safe driving in being able to stop the
vehicle within the distance that we can see. Driving too fast or following other
vehicles too close are the most common night driving hazards.
At night, our
ability to see is reduced along with the ability to judge distances and
distinguish objects. Nothing looks the same at night as it does during daylight
hours. At night, all shapes, colors and sizes are distorded.
The most dangerous
time for driving is between sunset and complete darkness because our eyes have
not adjusted to the darkness and the headlights do not provide suficient light.
Most people prefer not to drive at night, but there are times when it must be done.
Affinity Driving School is the only Driving School in Florida who teaches defensive
driving lessons during evening and night hours (for an additional fee); we
understand that night driving is particularly dangerous because we must drive to
protect ourselves from other drivers who could be drunk, tired or distracted.
Most insurance companies give up to 15% discount to first time drivers under
the age of 21 that have completed at least 6 hours of driving instruction with
a State Certified Driving School.
Note: Please remember that you are required to take the
4-Hour Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education
(TLSAE), also known as the Drug and Alcohol course before you can take the
Driver's License Permit Exam. The 4-Hour Drug
and Alcohol course is required for all new drivers in the State of Florida.
